"Best of the Area" winner 2011

Twin Image has won the title of best salon for four years running. It is an Aveda Lifestyle Spa, which means they use natural, plant-based Aveda products and treatments. It began as a small barber shop with just three employees 34 years ago, and now has over 30 employees. And why not give your car the same pampering as you do for your body? Owners Doug and Laura Warner opened a car-detailing shop behind the salon, called TI Auto Spa, that offers car cleaning and detailing.

Best Hair Salon, 2010 A-list Award

We are thrilled to be named the #1 Best Hair Salon in Eastern Iowa. We are humbled and thrilled to have customers who think so highly of us and our service. The KCRG-TV9 A-List is an interactive city guide featuring promotional contests hosted by KCRG-TV9 and powered by CityVoter. The A-List profiles local businesses and allows consumers to vote for and recommend their favorites. Thanks to all who voted for us! 

Donating hair to help clean up the gulf

Twin Image Salon Spa needs your help. We have signed up to donate hair for the Gulf Oil Spill Booms.

Currently, there are 13 locations with thousands of pounds of hair and nylons coming in from every state in the US and from Canada, Brazil, France, and the UK. Booms are being made all along the Gulf Coast near beaches and marshes. What a community feeling! We all get it. We shampoo our hair because hair collects oil!

This Hair-Mat-Mushroom concept has been proven on a smaller scale all over the world and now its time has come. As the dire implications of the spill are becoming more apparent, there is an offensive we can all be a part of.

Twin Image Listed in Salon Today

Iowa City's Twin Image Salon Spa, owned by Doug and Laura Warner, recently was named to the Salon Today 200 by Salon Today magazine, a business publication for salon and spa owners.

The magazine's 13th annual Salon Today 200 issue profiled the selected salons in its January 2010 issue. The 200 salons were selected for their best business practices from applications submitted by Salon Today readers, who represent the 25,000 top-producing salons and spas in the country.

The magazine honored applicants in 11 different best practice categories, including Compensation and Benefits, Recruitment Training, Customer Service, Retention and Reward Programs, Advanced Education, Marketing, Technology, Environmental Sustainability, Retail Programs, Inventory Control and Sales Growth.
